The International Baccalaureate (IB) Award is available to non-EU international students who achieve a high score in the full International Baccalaureate Diploma.

About the Award

New non-EU international students starting full-time, non-clinical programmes in September 2010 who achieve a minimum of 36 points in the full IB Diploma will receive a scholarship of £1,500.

The Scholarship will be deducted from tuition fees. Eligible students will receive this award for each year of their studies subject to satisfactory academic progress.

It is possible to receive this Award in addition to the Regional Award.

Eligibility

To be eligible for the IB Award, you must:

  • achieve a minimum of 36 points in the full IB Diploma
  • be liable to pay full tuition fees at the 'overseas' rate
  • be starting a new non-clinical programme in the academic year 2010/11
Students can receive the Award for the duration of their undergraduate programmes - this is subject to their level of attainment being maintained at 70% or more. A student who receives the Award in year 1 but fails to achieve 70% in their year 1 studies will not receive the Award in year 2 and will not be able to re-qualify in subsequent years.

Students will be assessed on the IB score to gain entry into the University only.

Students can hold the IB Award alongside the Regional Award of £1,000. Please note, this award is not available in conjunction with the Vice-Chancellor's International Attainment Scholarships.
