This award aims to promote research activities in areas relevant to the bilateral and multilateral relationships between Canada and the countries of the Asia-Pacific region. The award supports scholars in universities or research institutes in the Asia-Pacific region to undertake short-term research, including collaborative
research. The award will assist with direct costs related to the research project, and, when a research trip to Canada is warranted, will provided assistance towards international airfare and a weekly flat rate allowance for a maximum of five weeks. The value of the award is between C$5,000 and C$10,000. Up to two awards are made annually.
