Amount
The Bursary will provide support for course related costs to Full Time Undergraduate UK students at University of Bolton* who will be paying £3,290 per annum towards Tuition Fees (whether self funded or through the Tuition Fee Loan).
PGDE/PDE Students will not be eligible for the Bursary.
The value of the Bursary will be a maximum of £350 per annum.
Calculation of Bursary
The Bursary will be assessed on the student's household income and an eligible University of Bolton student (being a student with a household income less than £39,333 for students who commenced on or after 1 September 2006, or £60,032 for students who commenced on or after 1 September 2008) will be awarded the bursary as follows:

Payment of Bursary
The Bolton Bursary will only be payable to students who are still in attendance on or after 1 December (September starters) and an equivalent date for February starters.
Students who commence their studies in January/February and attend for one semester, will receive 50% of the normal Bursary entitlement for the year.
We will make payments by two instalments at the end of each semester in January and May.
Applying for the Bursary
The Bursary application process is automatically done by the University. However students must have completed a student funding application online or by downloading form PN1 available from:
www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance
regardless of whether applying for other support and requested financially assessed student funding
February Starts
The eligibility criteria remains the same as those for September starts.
Payment dates are scheduled for
End of May 2011 – 50% of entitlement
End of January 2012 – 50% of entitlement
Please note all figures quoted for the 2010/11 academic year are provisional.
*The Bolton Bursary will be paid to first, not subsequent equivalent or lower level HE courses only.
