
£500 per annum will be paid to the student over the academic year irrespective of their financial means.
Eligibility for Scholarship
- Students must be being charged tuition fees of £3,290. Fees must be paid via tuition fee loan or student must be self funded.
- The course of study must have commenced in September 2009 or later
- Applicants must be full-time U.K. undergraduate Higher Education University of Bolton students*
- The student must have successfully accumulated 300 UCAS points at A2 level or equivalent, please visit the UCAS tariff at:

Applying for the Scholarship
- In order to receive the scholarship students must have completed a PN1 application for student funding available from:
www.direct.gov.uk/studentfinance
To receive payment of this scholarship the PN1 funding application must be
completed even if the student is not going to apply for any other support (for
example student loans or grants).
- In addition an application form for the scholarship will be available at the Student Centre, Chancellor's Mall. The form can also be downloaded from:

Notification of Award
Students will be notified whether their application has been successful or not via their university e mail address.
Payment dates
Successful students will receive payment in two separate instalments subject to continuing and satisfactory attendance on the course. Expected payment dates will be as follows
End of Semester 1 (Jan 2011) - £250
End of Semester 2 (May 2011) - £250
Scholarship payments will be terminated if the student withdraws, transfers to another institution or fails their programme of study. Scholarship payments will be suspended if a student interrupts their studies
Scholarships will not be paid to students undertaking industrial or work experience on a full time "sandwich" basis. Students studying abroad also will not be eligible to receive the Scholarship.
Students starting in the Second Semester
For students who start in February the scholarship will still be available. The eligibility criteria remains the same.
Payment Dates will be the end of May 2011 and the end of January 2012

*The scholarship will be paid to first, not subsequent equivalent or lower level HE courses only.
