University of Glamorgan scholarships are offered on the basis that they are potentially subject to change in the event of changes to the fee and student support regime applicable in Wales

In the UK and around the world, there is a growing need for scientists, engineers and mathematicians. At Glamorgan, we are proud of our tradition and reputation in these fields and, as part of this commitment, we have awards to help develop the pioneers of the future. Worth a total of £4,500 over three years, this award is for high achievers who apply for a subject within the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics.

Who can apply?

UK and EU students studying selected full-time undergraduate degree courses within the areas of Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics. View a full list of eligible courses.

Eligibility Requirements

This scholarship is available for students starting degree courses in 2011, who will be liable to pay the flexible home rate of fee.
There are 200 awards to be won. To be eligible, you need to:

  • apply to Glamorgan by 15th January 2011 and firmly accept our offer by 6th May 2011
  • apply for the Excellence Award by 6th May 2011
  • achieve 340 or more UCAS points in your final exam results (from A-levels, the Welsh Baccalaureate or International Baccalaureate, or BTEC Nationals at distinction level. (qualifications obtained outside of the UK will be assessed on an individual basis)
  • be a UK or EU student and therefore liable for the UK rate of fee.
  • be successful in your University exams and assessments at the first attempt.

How much would I receive?

The Excellence Award is payable in three stages: £1,500 in your first year, then a further £1,500 in each of your second and third years following successful progression onto years 2 and 3. You must successfully pass all assessments and examinations at the first attempt to remain eligible.
