
UQ’s undergraduate scholarship program is the largest in Queensland and one of the most generous in Australia. Selection is based on financial need and the standard of the applicant’s academic achievement in secondary school. Preference will be given to an applicant from one of the districts of Charters Towers, Hughenden or Cloncurry. The recipient may hold the scholarship for one year. Senate will determine the number of scholarships to be awarded in a year. Value: varies on an annual basis; approximately $6,700 in 2011
Eligibility
Have undertaken no previous study at tertiary level (excluding a course undertaken through a university while attending senior secondary school);
- can demonstrate that their home residence is in north Queensland’
-can provide documentary evidence of financial need (requirements outlined on application form).
