This scholarship was established by a series of donations from Dr Robin J Helby. It was Dr Helby's express wish that the scholarship be offered in three different fields in rotation.
In 2011 semester one, the DBH Scholarship will be open to candidates to undertake postgraduate research in the area of the social effects of alcoholism, and is primarily open to sociologists. The scholarship is valued at the APA rate ($22,500 pa in 2010).
