
BNZ has established undergraduate scholarships for Maori students studying within the College of Sciences. BNZ wishes to assist and support Maori students studying in Sciences to be successful.
Tenure and value
Two scholarships of $2,000 each will be awarded annually for 2010 and 2011 and following that to be reviewed annually. The scholarships will be at any Massey University campus.
Eligibility
Applicants must be enrolling for second and third year full time undergraduate study for either a Bachelor of Agricommerce, or Bachelor of Agriscience in the following academic year.
Students must be 25 years or less as at date of application.
Applicants must be of Maori decent. Applicants are required to provide a statement on the application form confirming they are of Maori decent and have this signed off by a Kaiarahi, Kaumatua or a JP.

Scholarships are awarded on Academic merit
Responsibility for the award
The scholarships shall be awarded on the recommendation of the selection committee
Selection committee
A representative from the Agriscience scholarship committee and a kaiarahi will make the initial recommendations. Recommendations will be forwarded to Angela Wynn at the BNZ for endorsement.
Payment
Payment is to be made to recipients in one payment in April
Conditions of the award
The awards may be held in conjunction with any other award, unless the conditions of the other award/s preclude it.
Scholarship recipients will be required to sign a declaration allowing BNZ to use their name and photo for publicity and promotional purposes.
The scholarship recipients will also be required to sign a consent form allowing Massey University to provide a report of their progress to BNZ as appropriate to BNZ.
Closing date
Applications close 11th December with the award being made mid February the following year subject to confirmation of enrolment. ) PLEASE NOTE:The Closing Date has been extended to 19 March 2010.
