UK:The Spalding Trust Grants For Research

Technology blog from Bangladesh

Grants for research into world religions (usually a religion which is not that of the candidate). Trustees make grants from the main fund - often up to £1,500 for any one grant - to encourage the comparative study of the great religions of the world. In practice, some grants have enabled graduate students to study comparative religion at academic institutions. Others have been for travel either to conferences or to study a religion in the country where is is practised.

The trustees are particularly interested in research projects which are backed by a professional ability to raise the standard of knowledge of religious principles and practices and to interpret their relation to contemporary society.

Applications are considered monthly by Trustees but only after receipt of all the details requested. It is usual for Trustees to take three months to reach a decision on an application; applicants will be informed of the outcome of their application as soon as possible.
