A small number of Scholarships – normally two per year from each country – are available to students from France, Germany or Spain who intend to pursue further studies at any University in Scotland. These are open to current or recent students of a University in France, Germany or Spain, who will normally be not more than 25 years of age. The purpose of the Scholarships, founded in 1935 by Sir Daniel Stevenson, Bt.LLD, Chancellor of the University, is ‘To provide facilities for the forming of friendly relationships between the students of the Universities of Scotland and the Universities of France, Germany and Spain, for the furthering of amity and good understanding and the training of an ever-growing body of educated man and women capable of disseminating wherever they go ideals of international goodwill and co-operation.’

Value: The awards are intended to be supplementary ones only. They are awarded entirely at the discretion of the Stevenson Executive Committee, and various factors are taken into account. Awards may range from £200 to £4,000.
